The unwelcome visitor

The moonlight shone bright over the once bright and lively city, bleaching all the buildings bone white. Sara walked stealthily and fluidly not making a single sound, she needed at least the element of surprise. The city had once been her home, but when the overtaking started she had to run, and run fast and leave her whole childhood behind. As she walked through the alleyways of the grimy city, she kept her lighter in hand and at the ready, nothing would take her by surprise, she was a hunter lethal and quick.
She turned a corner and froze, there standing around 10 feet away with his back to her stood Drache. She had heard all the stories about how he was responsible for thousands of deaths, and he enjoyed them all, every single one. But Sara was a good judge of character and could see he wasn’t himself, just by the way he stood. He was uneasy and pacing like he couldn’t quite finish of his prey, that’s when Sara noticed the old woman lying on the ground, with big bulging eyes staring back up at him. Sara couldn’t let this shake her, even though it was supposedly impossible for a vampire to stop halfway through feeding, she couldn’t let this change what she had to do, he was a bloodsucking leech and had to be destroyed like the rest of his kind. Sara started to slowly move closer to him she was about 5 feet away when her whole body froze “You know, you shouldn’t do that right now, im busy thinking and I don’t have the patience not to kill you” he had turned around and was staring at her with a smirk on his face. Sara couldn’t help but note how much she liked that. “What do I care, you wont get the chance to kill me im a trained vampire killer, and the best” Sara said, though she meant it to sound loud and fierce it came out quite and shy. “Do you even know who I am? Im Drache one of the vampire leaders, and will not stand for this. Why am I even talking to you, you should be dead by now” Sara just stood there like a dumb chicken caught in the headlights, she was so mesmerised by his voice, she had no idea why but she wanted to be closer to him to see his face, but it was under the shadow of the building. Like he had read her mind Drache stepped closer too her, Sara should have known this was bad and should have moved back, but she couldn’t, she could see his face now.
He was extremely handsome, he had midnight black scruffy hair, wide deep violet eyes and two sharp fangs sliding down his bottom lip. Sara couldn’t take her eyes off of him. She felt this instant urge to walk forward and touch his cheek, but she knew better than to get that close and let her guard down. He had a confused look on his face like he was feeling the same things as Sara was. It appeared neither of them knew what was happening. Sara couldn’t stop herself then, she could tell she was moving towards him, but all she saw was him. She slowly moved her hand up to his cheek; his eyes were wide with horror and what seemed to be joy. As soon as there skin touched Sara was bolted right out of her trance by an electric shock that sizzled all the way through her body, right to the tips of her toes. By the look on Drache’s face she knew the same thing had happened to him. Though it was a shock it wasn’t painful it was kind of warm and tender like an invisible line was connecting them together, woven tightly around them so that they could be so close together that they could even her each others minds. Sara was just thinking joy and happiness she’s found her one, her other, her love. Drache felt the same feelings joy and happiness but there was still and underlying horror that he had fallen in love with a human let alone a vampire killer. Sara could hear the mental battle going on in his head, and noticed that they were sitting on the ground in each others arms, the woman he had about to of killed had ran away already Sara was glad, she could be alone with him. She felt so close and safe there in her little piece of heaven, but knew they weren’t out of danger just yet there was still the matter of that this was forbidden, that a vampire was not to fall in love with a human. Sara could hear Drach’s silent conclusion and felt her heart stop, she heard the whisper in his mind you’ll have to become like me even though the thought sent shivers down Sara’s spine she wasn’t worried she knew she could do it as long as they were together forever. And who knows, maybe shed like to be strong and beautiful and live for eternity, who knows what the future could hold.

The sun may set and the moon may rise
The seas may churn and the birds may fly
But the land is silent and the voice that whispers
Hear lies my unwelcome visitor.
